Further doses of bronchodilator should be given as necessary whilst awaiting transfer. • Treat children transported to hospital by ambulance with oxygen and nebulized β2 agonists during the journey. Paramedics attending to children with acute asthma should administer nebulized salbutamol driven by oxygen if symptoms are severe whilst transferring the child to the emergency department.
